I was very impressed by the sheer size of Exhale. With several different levels and bars, including pool tables and a huge dance floor, there is room and the right mood for everyone. There was even an air hockey table, darts and arcade games! The staff is attractive and friendly and their service quick. A great mix of music made it hard to leave the dance floor and I actually met several women while dancing--everyone was super-friendly. Although it is definitely a lesbian bar, my gay male friend felt welcome and commented that it was a refreshing change from his usual club scene. Then he wandered off after a cute boy he saw, and I took a break from dancing to look at the stars. The outdoor patio is spacious, with plenty of seating and a breath of fresh air after dancing too hard. Because the patio is enclosed, even though it's enclosed, it is large enough for huge groups to hang out but feels totally safe and private. It looks like there is a bar that can open on the patio, too.
Everyone seemed to be out to have a good time, no fights, no drama, a pleasant change of pace. Next time I am visiting, Exhale is the Albuquerque club for me! What a great nightclub for lesbians and the gay/queer community-and woman-owned, as well, which I always look for-another bonus. Go out and and have a blast.
